Lee Chaoshi(1893-1971)£¬also know as Xiang, was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. He went to France and studied in Paris Fine Arts Academy in 1911 and he was awarded scholarships for his excellent academic performance there for many times. He returned to China in 1919 and taught in Shanghai Fine Arts Academy, Beijing Art College and Hangzhou Art College in succession. After China's liberation, he was appointed chairman of Shandong Fine Arts Association. He is a famous fine arts educator and western painting artist. His work "Lee Chaoshi Pastel Collection" was published in 1962.
